I was scrolling through the "Records," and noticed they mentioned my uncle, Bill Van Syckle. He was "All State 1935." My mom, his sister, Mildred Van Syckle Van Emburg, told me that his nick name was "20 Mule Team," which meant he was a force to be reckoned with...thank you for remembering him.

Great site. Glad I found it. I graduated in 81. Got back to see my first game since my school days in 2010 to see the overtime game in the snow. great memories.

Great site! My dad (1934-2013) was part of the 1949 team (#34). Even though I grew up in Houston I heard all the stories of Stateliner football. We'd watch every game on ESPN on Thanksgiving. Thanks for the memories.
